Although the classic “Owner-Operator LMIA” was phased out, the business purchase LMIA pathway remains viable.
This route lets immigrants buy an existing Canadian business and use a positive LMIA to obtain a work permit.

• Purchase or acquire majority ownership of a Canadian business
• Show ability to manage and grow the business
• Provide a job offer to yourself as a manager
